Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, NLP is broadly based on the therapeutic work of Fritz Perls (Gestalt Therapist), Virginia Satir (Family Therapist) and Milton Erickson (Psychiatrist).

Neuro – deals with how your brain works and processes information through your 5 senses.

Linguistic – involves the language patterns you use.

Programming – refers to how you structure your communication and thinking to get the results you want.

Some of the issues that NLP is really effective for include:

  • Building confidence
  • Developing and enhancing Charisma
  • Public Speaking and Presentation
  • Dealing with Phobias- e.g. flights, spiders etc.
  • Dealing with Depression – Quickly
  • Setting and achieving life, personal and career goals
  • Improving communications
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Reducing Stress
  • Designing a better future.
  • Simply feeling better, more often

I am registered as a practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming.  A number of years ago I completed NLP Practitioner Level Training with Dr Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP) and John Lavalle  to achieve the standard of NLP Practitioner.

I often incorporate aspects of NLP in my therapy work with clients like you and I believe that a supportive environment, good rapport and a combination of approaches can be really helpful – and fun.
